Herbert Molano Addresses the Deceptive Salary Transparency of the City of Glendale
As Herbert Molano points out in an article
on his blog, “Glendale
Salaries Not Always Transparent”, “What
the city claims they made available as "Salary Information" is the salary
schedule by job title. That is clearly not the public expectation of
information as found on the annual W-2, and it is another little semantic
deception that exemplifies the city's lack of transparency .”
That in a nutshell explains how Glendale
Management, with the complete approval of every current member of the Glendale
City Council, has a policy of keeping the actual salaries (as well
as pension
and benefit information) as unavailable to the public as possible.
It is only because of the Glendale
“Gadflies”, so disliked by certain members of the GlendaleCity
Council, that the public has access to any of this information.
