07-28-10, Bruce Philpott Regarding Glendale City Manager Starbird and Randy Adams’ Pension

Hal, one must ask how Mr. Starbird, who last week was so adamant about Glendale not having any pension liability with Adams, is now reversing his position after getting an education from CalPers. Here is a man who purports to be the expert, yet he is time and time again proved wrong. Remember a year ago at a Glendale Homeowners Coordinating Council meeting where he said public pension liabilities were not a problem and he supported more long term bonds? These are not small policy issues, but major cost-centers the city has been struggling with for years now.
